That was fast. Carrie Underwood is working the Grammys red carpet in a gauzy floral gown from designer Zuhair Murad that was seen on the runway literally just days ago in New York as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Either the former Idol and nominee for Song of the Year has some great style connections (and a top-notch courier service), or the backstage crew at the Murad show is missing one very important gown. .
the Sunshine Vitamin
The so-called sunshine vitamin is poised to become the nutrient of the decade, if a host of recent findings are to be believed. Vitamin D, an essential nutrient found in a limited number of foods, has long been renowned for its role in creating strong bones, which is why it is added to milk. Now a growing legion of medical researchers has raised strong doubts about the adequacy of currently recommended levels of intake, from birth through the sunset years. The researchers maintain, based on a plethora of studies, that vitamin D levels considered adequate to prevent bone malformations like rickets in children are not optimal to counter a host of serious ailments that are now linked to low vitamin D levels. To be sure, not all medical experts are convinced of the need for or the desirability of raising the amount of vitamin D people should receive, either through sunlight, foods, supplements or all three.

Sad. I give it 20 years, and it will look like Detroit.
Tolls are great, drivers whine, yet they do not pay anywhere the real cost, such as my visits to the hospital during smog alert days and medications. We have solutions, but no one has the balls to implement them because Toronto is full of people who are only happy when they get everything and give nothing in return. I'd suggest a few more get outside the 401 and visit some real cities with real infrastructure, a world-class city first needs world-class people, and I'm not seeing that on this site. Coast Guard IDs two who died in capsizing off Oregon coast
HAMMOND, Ore. -- The Coast Guard has identified two men who whose bodies were recovered after a boat crabbing off the northern Oregon coast capsized. They are 54-year-old James Nibler of Salem and 52-year-old Curtis Heuer of Newberg. The Coast Guard suspended a six-hour search at nightfall Saturday and had not found a third man: Nibler's 41-year-old brother, Lawrence. Expected survivability was estimated at four hours. Bob Coster, search and rescue coordinator at the Coast Guard's Astoria station, says it appears a crab-pot line got tangled on an outboard motor, destabilizing the 16-foot vessel. .
Peach Buzz
The main differences: the new Fado is a bit roomier and there's a bit more head room, thanks to elevated ceilings. But perhaps the best added feature at the new location? A rooftop patio for 75 patrons, complete with a polished granite bar, decorative planter boxes and one killer view of the massive Buckhead retail renovation currently under way. McGill says the pub's menu faves like corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips and famous boxtys are staying put as are those popular early AM televised soccer and rugby matches that are heavily attended by British ex pats and their American friends. Alas, the inconvenient hour of the game telecasts here (the matches are played in the PM across the pond) is something McGill says won't change either, Quipped McGill: "The vagaries of time travel forces us to show them at that hour here." If city permits are issued in a timely fashion, the new Fado should be open in time for St.
